The Foo Fighters and an Example of Outstanding Customer Service
Having been one of the 60,000 people at the Milton Keynes Bowl on Saturday evening watching the Foo Fighters concert, apart from the brilliant performance, what struck me about Dave Grohl (the lead singer) was his outstanding commitment to his fans by going above and beyond expectations.
It was widely reported at the time that after the first two songs of a concert in Gothenburg in the middle of June, Dave Grohl fell off the stage, in a freak accident and broke his leg. As he was being carted off to hospital he said "You have my promise right now that the Foo Fighters, we're going to come back and finish the show". An hour later, with his leg bandaged up, Dave Grohl and his band were back on stage where they finished the two and a half hour performance.
Unfortunately due to the severity of the break, the band had no choice but to cancel their concerts at Wembley Stadium and a number of other events, but Dave Grohl vowed to make amends and get back as soon as he could. On Saturday, less than three months later, with his leg plated and still in a cast, he performed non stop whilst sitting on a chair for two and a half hours. At the end of a fantastic concert, he was very apologetic about the inconvenience he had caused and thanked his fans for their continued loyalty and support.
At Talkspace, our customers are at the heart of what we do, by sourcing the right property that meets their key objectives, whilst negotiating the best deal we can for them. The Foo Fighter concert on Saturday made me really appreciate, that whilst your customers may sometimes be affected by events outside of your control, how you respond and deal with these situations from your customers' perspective is critical to building a long lasting relationship. Over the past few months the Foo Fighters have demonstrated outstanding customer service and a genuine commitment to their fans.
